1. Roll up to the rail frontside at a moderate speed until you get the feel for boardslides.
2. Ollie and put your front trucks over the rail making sure you stay centered on your board.
3. It helps to go at an angle and just slide the end of the object your trying to slide until you get the feel for longer slides.
4. Once you feel like sliding longer lean back and try to slide the length of the object or rail.
5. To get off simply rotate your feet and shoulders so you spin off the object.
6. Bend your knees.
7. Land and roll away.
